Daniel Perttu’s music has been performed in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. Performances of
his music have occurred in arts festivals, new music festivals and concerts, solo recitals at the international,
national, and regional levels, Society of Composers conferences, and College Music Society conferences. Perttu
has received various commissions and awards from throughout the country. He also has numerous publications.

Daniel Perttu works as Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Westminster College in New
Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where he is also the Coordinator of the Music Theory Program. Previously he served
as an assistant professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he was the Coordinator of the Music
Theory Division.
He completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at The Ohio State University and has master's degrees from
Kent State University. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Pi Kappa Lambda, he completed his
Bachelor of Arts degree Williams College with a double major in music and English, graduating magna cum
laude. He also studied at the Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Brevard Music Center.
